Designers delight in San Francisco

Yesterday I had the privilege of spending the day with the fabulous Kelly Moriseau  who is style defined.   Her wit, knowledge and generosity are so engaging.

We met in China town for Dim Sum, which means to touch your heart.  Sundays were made for heart touching tiny bites and trolleys ringing as they pass. Making a noise to be heard, is part of celebrations.

We met to celebrate our published books.   Kelly created this wonderful kitchen book  – Kelly”s Kitchen Sync: Insider Kitchen Design and Remodeling Tips from an award-winning expert.  Read before you renovate.   Kitchens are so important for the way we live.

So lovely to toast our mutual achievement with Jasmine tea.  We met through Twitter.

Escaping the din we strolled up the street to Cafe de la Presse. Coffee, while talking interior design, & publishing. Suddenly in the mood for bubbles, we indulged in a decadent afternoon champagne cocktail.

Then we hiked up the hill, me in heels, glorying in the details. Every building tells a story.

to visit the Fairmont Hotel.  What a grande Dame of class.  Still.  Elegant, delicious design.

Glorious views, tantalizing details, photos of the feasts of yesteryears.

Back down to Chinatown to sniff tea leaves with exotic names and to get caught up in fireworks and the new year drums banged out, calling welcome to the aspicious Year of the Dragon.

If you have never been to the pillow fight in Justin Herman Plaza, It is highly entertaining- an interesting way to spend Valentine’s evening. But beware if you are allergic to feathers, stay away!!!
