Midlife Shifts

Last weekend was a celebration.  I attended at friends 50th birthday party and danced my booty off.  In fact when I woke up on Sunday my body hurt for awhile, in a good way. Every color, creed and belief shared space, dancing as one on that floor, unleashing powerful joy and activating the 5 in all of us.   Creative energy unfurled under the spell of the full moon. Calling us to surrender to the flow, fusing our masculine and feminine in harmony and that five energy.

Five is number that sits on a rocker, ready to dance. The zero is everything and nothing, divine protection. Sound sparks the soul, crossing barriers, connecting us in a common purpose.  Music creates movement, and movement is the the language of change.

45 – 50  is a midpoint in life, where love, laughter and experience are behind you and before you. A time to look deeper, as a woman realizing the first half of life was more about other people.  While your deep wishes and dreams are still locked in a vault, and so the shift begins. The five is activated.  5 is the number of freedom, adventure and change.Even the 5th house of your astrological chart is about self expression, creativity, fun, romance.  All the stuff that can open the door to opportunities.  Life revolves and evolves on the opportunities we grasp.

Growing up you may have been told to stop playing the fool and get serious.  At fifty you get to revisit your inner dancer.   Play is serious since  it engages the lighter side, reminding us that fun is what brings us to the truth within. So next time you get the urge to be draw, skip or splash in puddles – pay attention to what happens after you indulge.  It could be contagiously good for you.

  1. Hi Jen

Our celebrations started about a week ago and will continue now for the next few weeks. Amazing! I love that feeling you get when dancing releasing pent up energy and having fun it’s brilliant. Lots of love Jennifer xxx

  2. Jen, I love the phrase, ” Life revolves and evolves on the opportunities we grasp.” It is so well said and so true. And I am happy I am grasping mine in my 30s! 🙂

  3. Such a great post! I’m so much happier now that I’m in my 50s, I don’t take anything so seriously anymore. I didn’t realize that was why! Now I know and I’ll quit trying to get back to being serious, what’s the point?!
